In 2012 PGS made substantial investments into our facility infrastructure as part of a multi-layered Continuous Improvement project. Our specialized capabilities were broadened by adding Surface Profile grinding with the Jung J630 system. The central fine filtering coolant systems have been realigned to enhance temperature control and pre-filtering capabilities through the system layout. Each grinding system has C02 fire suppression and mist collection equipment to provide security to the PGS personnel, facility, and customer property.
Every piece of equipment has been moved to a new location that has helped us create a dedicated Metrology area that is separated from manufacturing. Our floors have been resurfaced and received a 7 layer epoxy system to provide a cleaner safer environment. We have added a 3rd Leibert climate control system with a customized duct system to the new grinding hall that is capable of 2 degree F stability year round. The manufacturing area now has 2 large insulated over head door systems for climate control and enhanced access to the facility.
Individual work stations have been created to contain all the hardware and tooling needed at each work center. Large wall systems have been installed to create safe storage and access to our grinding wheel inventory, and customer owned tooling. The metrology area has dedicated cabinets for all the gages that support the facility.
It continues to be the goal of the PGS ownership to create and maintain the highest quality facility possible to service our customers and we will continue to strive to meet that end.
